Commercial Data Analyst
My first full-time analyst seat. After two years of using data to argue for market entries, I wanted to sit closer to the numbers: how they are collected, cleaned and turned into decisions every week.
How I got here
Two years of using data to build business cases at SEA Bridge, plus university courses in business intelligence, statistics and machine learning.
I wanted a role where data is used every day, so I chose depth over another generalist title.
Why this role
At SEA Bridge most of my analysis ended in a deck. The deck was the product. I wanted the opposite: a job where the analysis is used every day by people who run operations, and where a wrong number shows up fast.
A data role in a services business gives me that loop. It also keeps my evenings and weekends free for the ventures I am still building.
What I focus on
- Building recurring reports that operations teams actually open.
- Cleaning and modeling data so the same question gets the same answer.
- Turning ad-hoc requests into reusable views.
Notes so far
DraftThis log is still being written. I will add what I learn here after my first quarter.
